HIS VERY OWN

Just a little lad--sometimes happy,
sometimes sad--
And he loved coloring pages
 in his coloring book
Some so neat, but others not.

He shouted, "Mom, look!"
there was this page
He had colored with pride--
A picture of a happy man
With presents by his side
mom told him who he was--
"This man is Santa Claus!"

Then the night of Christmas Eve
When everything was still
He was so excited!
His mom whispered,
"Go downstairs now,
But be very quiet."

Not a sound--
until he saw the red figure
that looked so familiar
He shouted with glee,
"Look Mom, it's Santa
from my coloring book.
How did he know where to find me?
How did he know the right clothes
to wear?"

Santa laughed and hugged the lad
"Son,I know where every boy lives
who deserves a Santa Claus."

Santa said,"Wish I could stay to see
you ride your new scooter
And unwrap the things I brought--
But,so many places to go!
Look outside,son,it's a beautiful snow.
See you next year!"

And in the distance, the lad heard
Santa's"Ho,Ho,Ho!"
The little lad was proud and happy
'Cause he had seen his very own Santa Claus!
