WHAT HAPPENED
What happened to Christmas
Eve and Day?
you say"they were just here".
yes, I know,yet Somehow,
now they seem so far away.

Shouldn't the joy,
spirit,and the love
Last throughout
the coming time?

What do you remember most?
The delicious food and wine
Extra treats served
by your hosts
The presents you gave
and received?
The twinkling lights
on the trees
Or perhaps the laughing faces
of children
As they played
with brand-new toys?

Girls and Boys see with
Such innocent,anticipating eyes.
Every new day brings a new surprise!
Shouldn't we try to see
through eyes Such as theirs?
and daily Bring this wonder into our lives?

Yes!They loved one another.
Or,so it seemed.
Will our once-a-year
joy and love Survive?
Or like the new
brightly-colored paper
Just be crumpled
and tossed away!

Even so this much I know:
The true love from one
Whose birth we celebrated
Will never be outdated.

Jesus's love will be here
for us,For all eternity.
