Illuminating Illusion

Many kinds of wood were used
Somehow all blended
Simply made--but
No one really knew
Who built it so long ago.

It wasn't large--
It wasn't small--
Just big enough to comfort
All who came were welcome.

It stood isolated--alone--
Many miles from any town
Yet,everyone who lived around
Knew and cared that it was there!

Rays of light crept through--
The door was always open
Before entering,it seemed so plain
But,once inside,
You were never the same!

Peaceful music could be heard
As if the walls locked in the sound
Yet no instrument was ever found
Words of wisdom filled the air--
though no visible soul
Preached a sermon there.

As you walked away on the old,
worn path Instead of a mere cabin--
One glance back revealed to you--
A sacred, glorious
Cathedral in the hills!
